Group Accounts Assistant

Contego Environmental are looking for a new team member to help oversee our purchase ledger and provide assistance to the group finance team.

The role is in our super cool Head Office, based in Newton Aycliffe. We are a fun chilled out team, music always on, tea and coffee flowing, and pool table is there to be played.

For this role you need to be able to demonstrate good communication, problem solving and organisational skills. We are looking for an ambitious, results orientated individual with team focus and an interest in progressing in an accounts role.

The role requires a high standard of I.T. skills, primarily Excel and Word, knowledge of Teams/SharePoint would be an advantage, but full training will be given.

What you Will Do

  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details
  • Raise Purchase Orders and manage the order
  • Match purchase ledger invoices and purchase orders
  • Process Purchase ledger invoices onto the accounts system
  • Manage supplier queries
  • Reconcile supplier statements and compiling supplier payment runs
  • Manage stock and produce stock reports
  • Processing staff expenses and administrate the expense card account
  • Assist with Credit Control and support Sales Ledger
  • Other administrative / office support duties as and when required.

You Will Need to :

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of purchase ledger
  • Have an understanding of financial controls and processes
  • Ideally have a good knowledge of using Receipt Bank and Xero (training can be provided)
  • Be experienced in excel and Microsoft office packages and able to use CRM system
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Have a positive and professional attitude, but we do not mind a cheeky and confident telephone manner, we love personality here ·
  • Be keen to progress in finance and be willing to learn new tasks
  • Be able to communicative effectively with customers and suppliers
  • Self-motivated ·

Terms of Employment

Job Type: Full-time The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Based at our Head Office, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. Candidate must be able to organise own transport arrangements to site.
