Resistance

You may recall in one of our previous Technical Tuesdays we have been participating in a research study by University of Reading's Vertebrate Pests Unit, covering house mice and rats.

Preliminary results finds 93% and 61% respectively carrying at least one rodenticide-resistance gene.

Resistance in rats has been confirmed in several new areas including Durham, Tyneside Greater Manchester, Somerset, Shropshire and Devon adding to a widespread resistance in central and southern England.

The study will continue into 2020. The outcome will help pest controllers conduct more effective control measures.
