Meet The Team

I joined Contego as Managing Directer in 2018 and have seen the company grow from strength to strength since then. I started in pest control as a child, helping my father with pest control in our small mining village. I am confident that Contego will continue to grow and become the biggest brand in the industry within the UK.

Paul joined Contego as Operations Manager in 2013 and his since taken over as Fleet and Compliance Manager. Although he was to the Pest Control Industry, Paul has embraced the new challenge he set himself by choosing to move away from the waste industry and has since passed his RSPH Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Rodenticides, further strengthening his pest control knowledge and skills.

Kirsty is the Business Support and Finance Manager at Contego. Her role involves overseeing the business support team and assisting the MD in his role. She is continuously working to refine and review our internal processes to ensure we can deliver the best service possible. She has two children, and she works flexibly so she can enjoy family life. Kirsty is also a volunteer 'Campaigns Ambassador' for Cancer Research

Ellie is our Business Support Administrator who joined the business in early 2018. She is progressing quickly with customer service and learning Contego’s systems after completing her apprenticeship Speaking of her apprenticeship, she knows she has made the right choice; “I’m really happy to have been given the opportunity at Contego to begin my working career with the apprenticeship and I’m learning a lot each day. “

Gillian joined our team in October of 2019 as one of our sales administrators. With sales positions taking her all over the Uk, Gillian is a wealth of knowledge.

Lucas Bourne - BSc (Hons) joined the #contego family in 2019 after finishing his Accounting degree at university. Always dressed to impress, he is notorious in the office for his always odd socks

Hannah joined our team in 2019 as our E-commerce & Marketing Assistant. She manages our social media accounts, e-commerce sales channels and paid advertising.

Shane is our Northern Operations manager! With a military background and extensive pest control experience, Shane is a wealth of knowledge. "My specialist skills are my organisational skills and in terms of the job, I was a technician myself before I became a manager, so I like to be hands on. '

Jordan joined the team in August as videographer and marketing assistant. After graduating London Metropolitan University with a degree in Film Production, he was welcomed aboard and has got off to a flying start!

Chris oversees small and large-scale job works as part of his role as project manager for Contego. This can be anything from pigeon guano cleans to large-scale bird proofing work. He’s delighted to be a part of the Contego team because his skills and values fit with ours.

Laura joined Contego in early 2017. She wanted to get back into an administrative role after working in sales and support roles for a number of years. At Contego, Laura works with area managers across the country, assisting them with scheduling and daily management and support. Speaking of her role, she said; "I am loving being back in an administration role. Pest control is something completely new to me, it’s so varied and I am gaining more knowledge of the industry every day.”

After 32 years in the manufacturing industry and working my way up the ladder from being the office junior to the sales office manager, I was made redundant in 2014. After my redundancy, I took a position working as a Finance Officer for a charity in the care industry. I then decided I wanted to get back into a sales office environment and I wanted a new challenge, so I joined Contego in May 2016. Angela continues to enjoy her varied role with Contego;“Pest Control was new to me, and I have enjoyed gaining new knowledge in this industry and continue to do so each day. No two days are the same.”

Luciano started his career in the pest control industry at a very young age, where he was controlling rabbits & rats with the use of ferrets, traps and terriers. He was also one of the youngest professional mole catchers in the UK at 17 years old, professionally removing moles with the use of traditional traps from farms and gardens. He then progressed onto corporate pest management dealing with many blue-chip customers on a national scale, delivering high standards of pest management on problem sites and implementing solutions to ongoing infested sites. Luciano then became a field biologist for another national company and specialised in specific rodents, this role involved in-depth inspections/surveys and implementing solutions to remedy issues. Luciano then spent the last 5 years of his career in technical sales for a Global Pest Control Company, implementing bespoke solutions to specific customers that had issues with pests, Luciano would combine his technical pest knowledge with practical experience and propose adequate pest solutions for large and small businesses. Luciano has a real passion for the industry and a keen interest in rodent biology and behaviour, in his spare time Luciano keeps working ferrets and terriers for the control of rats and rabbits."

Rob is our Head of Business Development and joined Contego in February 2019 having over 20 years industry experience working with a variety of clients, particularly with councils, managing agents and facilities management companies throughout the UK. A seasoned sales professional with an excellent track record Rob started his pest career as a technician at Rentokil in 1997 working his way through the ranks winning Sales Manager of the year in 2002 before moving to Ecolab in 2006. At Ecolab Rob became UK and Ireland top salesman for 9 consecutive years and Global Sales Manager of the Year in 2015. Rob Says, ‘I consider my success to be down to hard work and preparation. It's also a lot to do with being viewed as a trusted partner by my clients as I receive a large amount of my business through customer referrals a clear sign of the trust and excellent business relationships nurtured by myself. I always go the extra mile as a minimum for all customers. Rob is a Gillingham season ticket holder and an avid mountain biker you’ll find him every weekend around Medway with friends. A proud family man married to Helen for over twenty years and a proud dad to Charlotte 18 and Alex 14.
